Partial Hip Resurfacing (Wright)
This surgery replaces the diseased and damaged parts of the femur (thigh bone) with a metal ball component.
Damaged Bone Removed
After the femur is separated from the hip socket, the damaged area is removed. The ball is reshaped to fit the femur implant.
A metal ball component is attached to the reshaped femur.
End of Procedure
The new ball is joined to the hip socket to form the new hip joint.
